Today went to bai nian at Cheryl's house with Mahathir, Zhi Fan, Aaron, Ashraf, Chynna, Andrea, Jessica and Tracy. Wah, she lives damm far man. Bishan! Imagine how she comes to school everyday. I'll just faint lol! The train ride was long of course. Don't know how she has managed this for so many months already.

Hmm finally reached her house and greeted by many aunts and uncles. I could tell who her father was but not her mum! Her mum did come later lah. So we just ate some food that her parents cooked and sang karaoke for the next few hours? Majority of the songs were oldies, Chinese and English. A little boring, but I've learn to adapt to anti Britney Spears fan here in Singapore lol. So I didn't even sing one song today, even though Britney Spears was on the playlist. Better not embarress myself in front of everyone. Anyhow Cheryl is really an excellent singer! Her voice is so unique and again, I compare that to Adele, the great pool player! I think both of them are potential Singapore Idol contestants whose standard is close to Kelly Clarkson. But not William Fung ala She Bangs! of course. Don't sing that.

Erm left around 7pm then wanted to go Orchard to meet James but the guys were all so tired, so had dinner at Tampines instead. Man this week I've been such a good boy. Haven't even gone out late once! I doubt I'll go out tomorrow. Next week, hope it'll be a better week lah.

Friday, January 30, 2004

Again, went to school for 2 pathetic hours. Macroeconomics a little hard today. Must read through when I have time. After that went to Pavilion to play pool with Adele and gang. Wow that Adele is really a pool queen. She's really the best female pool player I've ever met! Her shots are so accurate. Man it just puts me to shame. Only that she today something wrong, wear super short shorts to school. Daring man. Haha

After that my mum fetched us all the way to Racecourse Road for dinner at the famous claypot rice. My aunt from America just returned to celebrate CNY with the family, but pity my elder brother and my dad not around. She's be flying off tomorrow, but returning for a full 2 weeks next week! She brought back loads and loads of chocolates and sweets! Wah I can have party man haha

Ooh man hey people January is over already wow so fast huh. Must start planning where to go for Countdown 2005!

Thursday, January 29, 2004

Went to school for 2 pathetic hours. Life Science tutorial was sian man. The question was so bloody easy, about the similarities and differences between plant and animal cells. And the tutor gave us 30 minutes to write the answer. zzz. Then the rest of the time do group discussion. Man, it was so quiet. We weren't even discussing anything. Just write the answers. I don't understand why people, other than those from Business school, just don't like to talk to strangers. Makes life so difficult during group work.

Man I found out something, but don't know if I should say. Let me just say a bit lah. One of my classmates, woo. Vice-president of the official Vic Zhou fan club in Singapore! Wah! I though within my circle of friends I wouldn't meet such fanatics, but I'm wrong! I better not mention who if not she will kill me.

Had my first official project meeting today with Ms Tan and Ms Choi. They weren't too pleased with the fact that we didn't meet up and get the little details done, so our consultation was really a waste of time so much so we decided to leave earlier. When I knew about this project I realised there were 2 potential banana skins that could deter me from doing well. Apparently my worst fears were confirmed today. Anyhow we did meet up after that and Jess volunteered to be our leader, so things are pretty smoothed out now. Everyone has got their own roles to play.

I watched American Idol just now. Only 13 got through from the beautiful state of Houston. The singing was horrible! Go watch it! You'll laugh till...oh man nvm I'll leave the criticising to Simon Cowell.

Nothing much today. James celebrated his birthday in the Business canteen with the whole gang of tourism students. Never had the chance to celebrate my birthday in school for obvious reasons. Even with the changes in cirriculum and holidays, people born in December will have the chance to celebrate in school (except Mahathir, for obvious reasons too) but not me. But I'm not complaining it's good to be away from school on your birthday right :)

Played pool just now with my usual gang. Had the urge to do so. But couldn't play long cos it was getting late.

Hmm right now I'm chatting with my Primary School friend Benjamin Foo (all thanks to Sarah who ask him to add me on MSN) He was my best friend in SHPS man! As in really really bestest buddy! Then after I went to SHSS, we lost contact. I didn't even know where he went to haha. Out came a great invention called Friendster, and abracadabra! We can talk again. But our conversation was quite short lah. Don't know what to talk about after m.i.a for 5 years.

First things first, Happy 19th birthday James! Haha cool guy in Tourism Management. 19 already. Man I feel so young.

Today's Tourism Destination lecture was quite fruitful cos guest speaker Sylvia Toh Paik Choo spoke to us about her experiences as a tour guide and some information about the United States. She's an excellent writer. Love all her articles in The New Paper. But I realised she's not very good at public speaking. Got very jittery at times. Clearly evident. Never mind, that's not important. I like the session today.

Sunday, January 25, 2004

So today I completed a couple more rounds of visiting but it ain't over yet still got some more houses next week. Went to Mr Andrew Soong's house, my Bible Study leader in Secondary School. Bing Guang and Marcus were there too. He shifted to Punggol area there but it was like wow! So nice the flat! Really overlooks a beautiful scenery! So just chit chat, did some catching up cos it's been almost a whole year since we met up!

Took a cab down to my dad's friend's place. Apparently he said I've been there before but I certainly don't have any memory of it. Wow his frend ah, must be be shot somewhere out there cos Jack Neo and one more Chinese actor from Holland V came too! But heck lah I was busy eating haha

Oh man before I forget (which I will), my to-do list

1. Do MBS tutorial & mindmap
2. Cut out Macroecons articles
3. Submit groupings for Macroecons to Mr Fong
4. Collect class fund (ask James)
5. Collect notes for T & T Bus lecture
6. Inform Ms Lenny about MBS project grouping
7. Study for Life Science quiz
8. Lastly, pay Jessica for all the drinks!

Man I had a rocking day yesterday, and if not for more house visiting later I would have slept till 3 plus maybe.

Hmm first stop was Yuqian's house and when I reached she wasn't back home yet! So her darling sisters entertained me. Yup then soon after she arrived with a couple of friends, and her other 3 siblings brought their own friends too so her house was like, super packed man! Anyhow her Godma cooked a huge feast for us to eat!

Had to leave very early, took a train to Orchard to watch SILVER HAWK with my whole family. Hai, waste of my time. Like I said earlier I was forced to watch this, and it turned out to be a flop. I just can't seem to apprecate Chinese sort of fighting-type movies. In fact, I don't really like fighting movies.

Left after that to go clubbing at SOS! Man, it was raining so crazily at Clarke Quay so had to run in rain all the way to SOS. I reached there around 6.30pm, and obviously no one clubs at 6.30pm. No choice lah since I had to escape the bouncers, so Ashraf came along and we hopped in happily. And we practically did nothing much for the next 3 hours? Play pool, watch pool on tv, drink until 10+ when Jessica and Zhi Fan came along and we just drank more and more lor. I don't think I've drank so much before. Not beer, but some drink called Long Island. Felt kinda dizzy downing that but anyhow managed to lug my sorry body onto the dancefloor and danced lke crazy! Wow the songs yesterday were awesome! All the pop songs! So I practically went mad! Never mind lah no one really cares haha. The crowd was hyped up too! Really enjoyed myself man, went back at 2am and slept around 4am, so I'm like so tired now zzz.

Ok catch ya guys soon ciao

Friday, January 23, 2004

Ha ok finally can blog peacefully again. So how's everyone doing? Great? Great!

So went out the whole day, basically another movie marathon haha. This time it's not at Cineleisure with my gang but my whole family. No choice lah my brother needs to catch all the movies he can before going back to camp. So we unanimously started off with THE LAST SAMURAI, which was the hit flick starring Tom Cruise. My goodness, Cruise can really act well! The whole show is so real, so spectacular! As if you're actually at the scene fighting as well! I like it a lot. One of those shows which is kinda long, but not draggy. It moves with a steady pace without boring you to death. Definitely worth watching peeps! (a million times better than lord of the rings)

After that, for the first time in my entre life, I went to play pool with my elder brother and my father. Oops sorry it's billiard. Man, I suck big time! I got trashed by both of them so badly! Embarressing man! My score was..believe it or not, I think negative 10 or something! For both games! Goodness!

So anyway I was so glad it's over, went over to Swensen's for dinner and decided on the next movie. Apparently my father wanted Peter Pan but I opted for MAGIC KITCHEN since I can watch Peter Pan in Cineleisure for free. So we went our separate ways with my mum and older brother following me and Jeremy following my daddy. The show was pretty alright just that there's too much narration. Other than that a lovely comedy to enjoy!

Well it doesn't really stop here cos tomorrow I'm forced to watch another movie too! Ok tell ya about it soon..bye for now!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Xing Nan Kuai Le! Nian Nian You Yu! (Seriously I have no idea what year year got fish means)

Thanks for the greetings on the tagboard people! Sorry I can't really blog much lately. Not that I don't have time. Just that as you know my older brother just returned from army camp and he wants to priviledge to use the computer while he can. Problem is, he plays this stupid gunbound game for hours. Like practically from evening to the wee hours of the morning. So no chance for me. Never mind I'll do my best to sweet talk him ok.

Have fun people! If you wanna call me out just give me a buzz k.. I'll post my number here. It's 97938288. See ya.. :)

Tuesday, January 20, 2004

Just came back from my reunion dinner at some unheard-of restaurant. Don't think I'll give any details. Food is food. It goes down by digestive system. Wahaha.

My brother just returned home from the army too. The only obvious change from his one week stint there would be his bald head, or should I say almost-bald head. Other than that it looks like just PE everyday for one week. He seems to be loving it. Oh except that he realises he can't tag our maid along to the army to wash his clothes and make the bed. Wahaha.

Damm, like what Isaac said his i/c has been retained by the government. Some regulatons that need to be adhered to when you're in the army lah. So I need to find someone else who has i/c if not I can't go clubbing on Saturday with my new classmates.

My Microeconomics tutor, Ms Tan Ee Ling has just gven birth to a baby..erm..I don't know boy or girl. Congratulations! I might be visiting her this Sunday. Nic, Sha2, Dayana, Wanyi, hey people shall we visit our dear teacher?

Oh, very heartfelt thanks to Qian Ru and Cheryl for posting those Chinese New Year cards to me. Really appreciate it.

You know something, I guess I'll never win the sabotage game. Kena again today man.

Out of the blue don't know why that Ms Ivy Tan want to play charades during lecture today. So my beloved TB49 sabotaged me to do all the lame acting. They sure paid the price man sorry! We only managed to get 3 out of 15 correct! Paiseh lah also not fault. I keep passing and passing. I mean, how do you expect me to act out words like 'package' or 'tour'? Like, quite impossible right! Hai, then in the end Mahathir's class win lor. His classmate Sharon was like, whoa. Potential Zoe Tay? See lah, should have opted for Nicole or Dayana instead.

Monday, January 19, 2004

It's 11.20pm now, soon it'll be my bedtime. Well, quite an ordinary day today. All lectures and tutorials are on, nothing's really affected by Chinese New Year unlike my friends from other classes. So it's been a long day for me, 10am to 7pm. I'm sure you won't want me to describe everything that happened during the 2 tutorials and 2 lectures today.

Oh yah I had lunch at a coffee shop near SHSS. The Nasi Lemak is aboslutely tantalising. But it started to rain and rain and rain.

What else? Oh Karin, my goodness. Why are you so hyper today? That's good lah. At least wake me up a bit.

Today the Finnish guy Ant finally spoke during lecture. As usual, can't really decipher what he's trying to tell Ms Choi.

Nicole is sick, so didn't come to school. Adele isn't sick, but left after noontime I reckon. Wanyi's new shoes are super eye-catching.

Cosmo doesn't really talk much, but at least I'm not alone during Life Science lecture. For once.

Ashraf is a fast eater.

Ok good night.

Sunday, January 18, 2004

Usually on Sundays my house is all doom and gloom cos there's really no activity whatsoever. Until I woke up, went down for breakfast and don't know who invited all my cousins, aunties and uncles to the house. I haven't really seen them for quite some time and I though maybe we'll wait till Chinese New Year, but somehow they came so my grandma cooked a huge lunch for everyone in the house. Oh yah more significantly, Auntie Alice, my aunt who works in Mediacorp, was here too. She told my little cousins that if they wanted, they could act in an upcoming Ch5 sitcom called POLICE AND THIEVES, starring Mark Lee. It debuts on 3rd Febuary if I'm not wrong. Anyway I don't think my cousins are good actors, although some of the young ones can really talk. Future lawyers maybe.

Ok back to Auntie Alice, wow, the perks she received while being Mediacorp's assistant vice-president are incredible. Not only free movie tickets, free concerts, showcases, last I found out you can add to the list free popcorn during movies and, believe it or not, free air tickets! Yeah so cool! But of course on a conditional basis lah. Cos she's always jetting off to other countries to meet some big shots and her frequent flyer programme enables her to get a lot of points for upgrades and all the other stuff. Anyway on these business trips actually she can get free air tickets sometimes and free accomodation, so she intends to bring my Grandma to Vancouver in June. Hmm if all goes well maybe I can hop along too hehe.

Saturday, January 17, 2004

Hai suddenly I'm the busiest person in Tourism Management. AH! Must be Mr Low go and brainwash that Ms Tan. He knows that I'm a head councillor in sec sch. No lah I'm just thinking too much. Man I hope this doesn't affect my studies k.

Oh Nicole yah, reminded me. I must say New Zealand sounds like such a cool place. Heard a lot about it today. The 8th wonder of the world is located there. It's called MILFRED SOUND. So cool I hope to go there someday. But there's really no nightlife. You'll be bored to death at night haha.

Wah today I must have looked very stressful?

It's not fair that I'm class rep and field trip rep. Just ruins everything and it makes it so difficult for me to lead a normal poly life. My classmates, not coming also don't want to call and tell me. Late also don't know how to take initiative and tell others. Make me call so many people just now. Waste my phone bill money hai.

Then reach there at 2.30pm and the Chan Brothers woman tell me it's cancelled and we have to wait for the 3.30pm slot. Worse still the group was like so big! Like 30 of us packed in the room so no choice I had to stand throughout the briefing. Then Mahathir kept calling Ms Tan to confirm everything cos we might need to change it to tomorrow instead! So jialat. Some of them came so late. Like the Finnish exchange student Ant and the 'bomoh' Lydia. Trying to make a grand entrance. Grand my foot. Come late never mind. Sit down halfway then leave without saying a word. Hai.

The briefing on New Zealand was quite informative, but didn't realy listened much cos the people kept leaving halfway complain that it's boring and I had to mark attendance and give Ms Tan. Then still must setlle tomorrow's briefing on Taiwan cos another group is coming. Thank goodness I no need to go.

Dammit man it's just not fair why did Ms Tan make me multi-task. Hai just remembered Ms Choi and her wants the class list neatly typed out with contactable email addresses and handphone numbers. I haven't even got to know my class lor. Quite impossible. By Monday some more. Die man.

Ok where was I sorry I was digressing a bit it just came to my mind so I typed it down. Hmm oh yah maybe if I was a little stressed out it's because I didn't eat lunch and had to wait till 5pm to eat. I had Nasi Lemak at Chinatown with some of my classmates plus Adele, Wilfred bla bla bla..Then took a train to Plaza Sing cos wanted to play pool at Le Meridien but it's so bloody expensive. So walked to Lucky Plaza instead to play. Adele is such a brilliant pool player. She's much better than Sarah I THINK. I would say Sarah is the best female pool player I've known. That might be history.

Oh after that Adele went off to meet her darling friend and I went home with Zhifan and Mahathir. Hmm Ah Fan, Ryna and some others are heading down to CHINABLACK next Saturday. Wondering if I should go. I miss clubbing. I'll try to get my brother's i/c first lah.

Good at least I'm occupied for the past 2 days doing nothingless activities. Oh that reminds me, Melissa Chew! Haha I want go swimming at your house again k. Aiyah next week Chinese New Year. I'm packed the whole week, except maybe on Sunday. Any ideas what to do? Tell me k.

Haiyoh just remembered must rush my MBS and Macroeconomics tutorials for Monday classes. sickening.

Friday, January 16, 2004

Haha wow I'm feeling so wonderful now! Didn't go out for like 5 days cos of school? Finally let it all out today!

So anyway Nicole is sick, didn't come to school. If not could have gone to Orchard at night to catch "Paycheck". Never mind you take care girl?

Went for the 1pm Macroeconomics lecture. Crap man it's so pathetically easy. The lecturer, which is also my tutor, didn't really teach at all. Gave us a long 15 minute break. But what the heck it's so easy anyhow.

Met Mahathir, Aaron, Zhifan and Ashraf after that. Wanted to go Pavilion play pool but the place was so crowded! So Mel called me and invited all of us to her place for dinner. Very nice condo I must say! Quite big, and so many things to do! Yup then we ordered Canadian 241 pizza. In the end we ordered too much haha! Sat by the pool and eat while Adele was teaching Ah Fan how to play the guitar. Yah then we sat there crapping for like a few hours gossiping about so many things. Hai don't know what instigated Mahathir to throw me into the swimming pool after that! Crazy right. But it was very refreshing. Haven't had a good swim in ages. The rest joined in later in their makeshift swimwear except Ashraf lah. Tried some synchronized swimming but apparently it flopped! Anyhow it was very very fun today. Felt so relaxed after a very tiring week. Hope to go back to Mel's house again hehe..

Thursday, January 15, 2004

Today several people commented that I was acting very crazily in school. In a sense I was super hyperactive. Didn't realise that. But sometimes I'm like that for no apparent reason.

Tourism Destinations tutorial was at 9am. So early man. That Ms Choi Hoi San assigned me work as a class rep. Man this is getting crazy man. So unfair that I have to bear this burden. The tutorial inself was kinda interesting. Learned a lot today about some elasped flying time and minimum connecting time. And how to calculate time differences. Not too difficult actually.

Went to Mac Donald's near my old secondary school to eat with Nicole, Leslie and the other TRM guys. Ate my favourite McFlurry yum yum. Then headed back to school for Life Sciences tutorial. The ITAS school is so confusing. But then I realised I didn't know how to read the classroom codes. Walked around the 5th floor so many times then found out my class is actually on the 6th floor. Hai.

Ok on a lighter note I found out I'm not doing this subject alone! Carol Ho is studying this too, and Cosmo is in my class too! What a relief! No more lonely lectures for me. Yippee!!

Wednesday, January 14, 2004

Yesterday I said I'm not gonna blog about my school life because there's really nothing much, but I find it quite impossible with so much going on.

So quite unfortunately Ms Ivy Tan elected the class rep today and he is yours truely. Which isn't very good news. I want to keep a very low profile in school and this isn't gonna help my cause. James is my dear assistant and treasurer.

So anyway I had lunch with several of my new classmates today and they wanted to dig out a lot of information from me. Am I that interesting? Never mind, I'll take it positively. Get-to-know-each-other-better session.

After class I went to the canteen with James And Zhi Fan for coffee and we chatted for about an hour or so. I guess Ahfan and I don't really know James so it's good for us to know him better and clearly we met our objective today. He seems a little reserved at first but when you know him better he can really talk a lot. Seems like quite an interesting guy. Oh Mahathir, Aaron and Cheryl came to meet us and we decided to go TM to eat. So we chatted more with each other, but I don't think I'll elaborate on that.

Had to go back to school for Life Science lecture. Same old story. Repeating everything that I've learned in Sec3 and 4 Biology.

Well well school life in general has been fine. Not much homework. Not much pressure yet. But some relationships with some friends have been strained very badly. I don't like to hear rumours about me going on. Aiyah it's common sense lah no on likes rumours to be spreading about them. So anyway I'll try to take things as it is. No one is perfect after all.

Tuesday, January 13, 2004

I've just realised that many many people are reading my blog, so much so that I've taken some stick by accidentally criticising people unknowingly in my entries. Firstly I would like to say, I don't criticise people unknowingly. If I criticise, I criticise because I have every right to do so in an online diary. Or in most cases a written diary. Secondly, I want to say after blogging seriously for a month or so I haven't actually criticised anyone! I mean you look at my entries every day, they are so full of joy! I hardly complain about life or my loving friends all around. I don't have any reason to! So I guess maybe I'm overlooking issues and thinking I'm being very critical about things when I'm not. Hmm so well all my friends mean a great deal to me like Nic, wanyi, Shasha, Dayana, Fan, Mahathir, Aaron, Ash, Mels, Dele, Krystal, Sarah and the list goes on and on and on...

Sometimes I don't really have much to blog about and that's how yesterday's entry came about. I like it a lot and I'm glad many of you like it too. There's no one I specifically target actually, but come to think about it, my elder brother would be most appropriate since he just left to defend our country. He's be back next week for Chinese New Year.

So now that I'm schooling instead of giving 'Akan Datang' movie reviews like in the past I think you'll be better off surfing the net or playing Gunbound rather than read my stereotypical entries. "Oh I had lecture today and it was so fun" or "The tutorials are so boring". So once and for all I declare that lectures are more fun than tutorials. You won't really hear me talking about school life from now on unless there's something noteworthy to mention.

Well, that include's today's Travel & Tour Business lecture. My goodness, some of my coursemates are so knowledgable about tourism stuff I wonder how they get so much info man. That guy Daniel from T101, wow, he practically knows everything man! Including who's coming to town for gigs (that Anita Mui joke was funny too) and all that Travel agency stuff. Amazing man.

Karin proposed to have a HTM dinner and dance sort of event for freshman. I'm quite on for it, but on these conditions:
1. It's not held in school. Initially I said 5-star hotel but all of us are tightening the belt.
2. TRM and HRM students not be seated together. I don't really know HRM students and I'm better of sitting with my own gang. Well if I'm like the prom king that night then I'll consider hitching up some babes after the party. But seriously there aren't any babes in HRM. Hee
3. No lecturers involved. An all-student affair.
4. Dress code formal or smart casual. Leave the Levi's jeans at home.

Ok with that I'm ready to party.

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air.
You name them - work, family, health, friends and spirit and you're keeping all of these in the air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit - are made of glass.
If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered.
They will never be the same.

You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.

How?

Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Don't set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.

Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as they would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future.
By living your life one day at a time, you live ALL the days of your life.

Don't give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect.
It is this fragile thread that binds us to each together.

Don't be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find time.
The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly;
and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only where you've been, but also where you are going.

Don't forget, a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

Don't be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

Don't use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved.
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.

What we can learn from here is to cherish the present, experience the history and dream the future.

Last but not least, a motivational quote to how each and every one of us can do to make the most of our everyday life.

"Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

It's a very sad day tomorrow. My older brother Jon is going to the army. Hmm obviously he'll be back but I reckon I won't be seeing him much for the next 2-3 years maybe. Such a pity that I have classes in the afternoon so I can't send him off with the rest of my family. Well somehow there's this evil streak in me that's really jumping with joy at such news. Let's just say his room is free for use now and so is his hi-fi and MD player. His fashion sense is great, so which means there's no need to buy new clothes for Chinese New Year since I can wear his. But blood is thicker than water, so here's wishing him all the best.

Me? I'm 18 this year. But army is still a loooong way more. Wahahaha.

Ok this is a good time to blog cos I'm in the lab waiting for my MBS teacher to come. Just now I had Macroeconomics tutorial. Oh my, the tutor, Mr Kenneth Fong was so boring. Or should I say is so boring cos he's gonna teach me this semester. Oh pardon me he hardly teaches at all. Unlike Ms Tan who goes through the entire chapter from top to bottom. He doesn't. And that's worrying.

Sunday, January 11, 2004

I just watched "Who wants to steal a million" on tape. Thanks to Aunty Alice for lending it to me. It was shown on TV last week about this Major Charles Ingram who cheated his way to 1 million pounds on "Who wants to be a millionaire". Well if you didn't watch it then you've missed a good show. I mean this stupid guy, if he had cheated by using sms (which is quite impossible anyhow), fine, we Singaporeans can't dispute much since it's so widespread nowadays. But Charles Ingram cheated by listening to his accomplice's cough. If it's for 1 question, aiyah, heck lah we probably wouldn't know. But for like 10 over questions, he cheated, and he thought he could get away? Haha.

There's the 32 thousand pound question which was so simple I could answer it without the 4 options given. Who had a hit UK album 'Born to do it' released in 2000? He used 50-50, left with A1 or Craig David. He declared "I DON"T THINK I"VE EVER HEARD OF CRAIG DAVID" Then I heard coughing. "OK MY FINAL ANSWER IS CRAIG DAVID" Helloooo? Is it contradicting or is it contradicting? Why would you go for craig david if you hadn't heard of him?

Ok fine, the 1 million pound question which I knew the answer too. What's the number 1, followed by 100 zeros called? It's called a googol. Again, he said he was positive it wasn't googol. Cough cough. Hai. And he won 1 million like that.

The strangest thing of all is the producers called to tell him he's been suspected of foul play and he was like so cool and calm, saying"ok, thanks for letting me know, erm I find it weird and stuff.." I mean hello, if you were innocent you'll be screaming your lungs out right!

I just came back from Sun Ho's concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and if you thought my aunt gave me tickets, you're wrong! This time I must thank Gina (Nicole's cousin) for being the ticket provider! Quite a lot of us went but mostly Nicole's family. Too bad I didn't get to see her cute cousin Zenn, the star of the latest Pizza Hut commercial.

The concert was hella good! The crowd was very wild, quite surprisingly. Yeah I know Sun Ho is very popular but didn't expect the fans to be so crazy. Still they have a lot of catching up to do to match the even wilder fans of 5566, F4, Jay Chou, Stefanie Sun and more. Anyway as I was saying she sang very beautiful Chinese and English songs, though I think she does better on the former. I might consider buying her new album too. Really enjoyed myself. Oh yah she's nominated at the MTV Asia awards next month for Favourite local artist Singapore, but I don't think she can win the stiff competition. She might be the blackhorse, who knows?

Yup speaking about MTV Asia awards I'm so excited! Just about a month more! Confirmed: the hosts are Vanness Wu and Michelle Branch, and the performers include Black Eyed Peas, Gareth Gates, Simple Plan, Dido, Liberty X and more! I'm thinking of making a huge card with a huge question mark on it. That's the Black Eyed Peas signature "where is the love?" thingy. Can't wait!

Had a fantastic day. Woke up kinda late at 11 and went for the 1pm macroecons lecture. Turned out that I'm going to get another A for economics, if not a distinction. At least, that's what I hope and forsee lah. Nothing's too difficult. All the new terms had already been covered in Sec sch.

Rushed down to Orchard after that to buy tickets for some shows, sad man. The Cathay people don't allow me to use the card more than once for the same movie. This time they use computer to check, not log book, so I can't escape anymore. Thus I couldn't get Mona Lisa Smile and Sarah desperately wanted to watch Love Me If You Dare too. So sorry pals.

Hmm Nicole came and decided to kill time by doing tutorials at - get this - the bowling alley! And it's so cool the high tables and stuff, really great place to study. Oh yah CJC had their orientation there. Saw some geek doing 10 push ups in front of everyone. Lame. Anyway we really did study. I did quite a lot to be honest for that hour.

So at 6.15 went to watch GOLDEN CHICKEN 2. Beginning quite draggy but towards the end quite touching lah. A little crappy at times but what the heck it's free anyway.

Met Sarah and Wei Thong to pass them their Cheaper by the Dozen tickets and then Leslie came by. So we watched VERONICA GUERIN. It's a very touching story. I almost cried. Read all about it in Nicole's blog. Anyway it's a superb movie. The story is very very sad. Go watch it people.

Hmm went to Marche for dinner after that. Something like my ususl hangout already! Haha ok it was fun lah. Sad, next week school starts proper. Tutorials, labs, lectures, projects, field trips all next week. But it'll be fun lah at least I'll get to know my class once and for all. Alright that's all..

So today is my off day since it's all tutorials and there's no tutorials for the first week. Woke up at 10.30 and went off to have breakfast with Melissa and Adele at the famous Simpang Bedok roti prata. Yum yum. Then the 3 of us head down to Orchard for some shopping, but I'm so guillible to believe Melissa when she said bus no.10 can go to Orchard. Sigh. What a myth. In the end we dropped at Shenton Way and took a cab to far east.

Man, those girls can really shop man. They bought a pair of shoes each. Ok never mind I shall spare all you readers the details of their shopping. Hmm went down to Paragon's Baker's Inn for tea. Wah the food there so high class man! I better stop this habit of fine dining for no apparent reason! Anyway spent about 10 bucks each, though I spent slightly less lah. That's high tea ok. 10 bucks. Usually that's the amount pay for lunch/dinner.

Ok did more shopping in Paragon, which, incidentally, is the first time I'm shopping there. I mean the stuff there is soooo crazily expensive! Hai but the 2 girls wanted to look around, almost ended up buying more stuff. In the end we decided against acting rich when we weren't rich. Went off to Heeren next where I was looking at many bags at 77th street but couldn't decide, so didn't buy. Saw a choker which I loved dearly but Mel and Dele said it wasn't suitable. Sigh.

Took a train back to Tampines where I met the brudders to watch SCHOOL OF ROCK, the 2nd time for me. Very hilarious! Ate dinner at BK before heading home.

Well it's already 12 so happy birthday Leslie! See ya later!

So sickening man. I'm not fed up or what. In fact sometimes I wanna laugh. Alright I admit Jermaine sounds more like a girl's name than a guy's name, fine. Sickening people on MIRC keep asking why I'm 17m and using a gal's name. I'm like HELLO! Get a life. Were you born yesterday? Can't you use your thick skull and think deeper?! If I'm a guy would I use a gal's name as a nick? Haven't you heard of Jermaine Jackson? Jermaine Pennant? Jermaine Defoe? Do they wear skirts and play soccer? What on earth! Is John or Jeremy a gal's nick too???

Just had a long conversation with Yuqian. Haven't spoken to her in ages, but decided to clarify someone's testimonial about her. Apparently I didn't know how I got dragged into the scene as well. Never mind. Oh great news she has a Biology textbook woo hoo! Yup anyway been a long time so we chatted quite long. Her school still sucks as usual. No babes, no hunks, all geeks, all monks...wahaha what am I talking. Hmm we'll meet up on Friday.

Here's an appeal to anyone who has a Biology textbook ('O' level standard) that you don't need; please give it to me thanks!

So yeah, went for Life Sciences lecture for 1 pathetic hour but that Joyce Koh covered so much! Unbelivable. I don't think I can survive on the notes alone. In fact I haven't came across a subject where I can survive on notes alone. So that's why I need a Biology textbook! I'm sure some kind soul out there would have one! Anyway it's quite rudimentary today, just talk about the basic easy stuff like cells, genes, DNA; nothing in depth yet.

Tomorrow is my off day! No school! Actually most of my friends too (except poor Ah Fan) so might be having a movie marathon! haha we'll see how. So far there's no homework yet, so no need to rush anything.

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to Wanyi
Happy birthday to you!

Today was day 2 of school. Went off early to have lunch at Mensa with the brudders before going for Travel and tour Business lecture. Ms Ivy Tan, haha, we all know her, so no introduction needed. Well, she didn't teach at all cos there's going to be 3 field trips and she spent the hour going through the details. And so, sadly, I am the field trip rep! Together with James. Sob sob. So obviously, I saw the entire namelist for my class T102 but I didn't know half of them. That's really sad. And there's a lot of difficulty trying to pick a date when everyone is free! So I'm kinda stressed about it. I'm sure Ivy Tan will call me tomorrow. And that's the end of me.

Oh yah, there's this new guy in our course (6 months exchange programme) from Finland. Came in and sat behind me and beside Wanyi. Felt so uncomfortable so I introduced myself and he did too, but I couldn't decipher his name. If I'm not wrong it's called Antti. Some gals desperately want him in their class. Dayana kept asking if he's single or not. This sort of thing - not important to me.

MBS lecture..well, I shan't say much. First part was crap. Totally crap. That Narayanan could have just shut up for the first hour. Asking ridiculous questions like "Have you been attending CSA lectures regularly last year" "What's your plan for MBS?" Then second hour he lectured, but he ran out of notes so I copied the notes for 1 hour until my hand broke! Hai! stupid ultra-supply. Ran out of notes at the wrong time.

Finished at 6pm, but since I'm so free decided to crash Arts Appreciation lecture with Nicole and Andrea. Basically, the entire lecture they were appreciating art, which obviously wasn't my cup of tea. The lecturer just kept flashing different paintings by never-heard-of-before artists and asked for their opinons. There was this cute one where Mona Lisa was disfigured. Wahahaha. Appreciate art? Funny man.

Ok almost halfway into first week of school and there's no updates, sorry about that. Problem is, my house is undergoing a minor revamp, not a major one. But my room is in a total mess it just resembles a garbage trash. The bed, the floor and worse the computer area is just inhospitable. My study desk has been removed too. Anyway everything's pretty ok, just applying the finishing touches to the rset of the house. People, now you know living in a big house has its disadvantages too.

Ok so 2 days of school has passed. Really nothing much lah that's all I can say. Yesterday had Tourism Destinations lecture at 4pm. The lecturer, Choi Hoi San was kind enough to tell us our project groupings, but I'm kinda more interested about my class. So I found out these people will have to endure my crap for the next 4 months: James, George, Jess, Gen, Meirong and the rest. There's a repeat student called Jeremy too. Wonder who is he.

Life Sciences CDS lecture was kinda scary at first cos I was all alone. So I came in late, made a grand entrance and found an isolated seat. Sat there for the whole hour with another guy who didn't bother to introduce himself, so I couldn't be bothered either. There was no lecture cos our timetable had changed and the lecturer spent the entire hour shuffling it. Zzz.

Had such a tiring day yesterday But with school starting I think I better make the most of my free time now. (yeah you saw my crap timetable)

So woke up very early to play soccer again. I feel kinda bored playing in the mornings already. It's so boring and there's no enthusiasm from anyone. Well I'm glad it's over since school starts very soon. So I don't know when I'll see ya guys?

Went home to sleep the whole afternoon before meeting Nicole and Leslie. Had a very good dinner! Went to Mos Burger to eat Mos Burger of course. The burger, well, kinda tasted ok lah. Didn't really fill my stomach so went to Marche for some Rosti, which is pan-fried Swiss potato. Really delicious! Then wanted to go Swensen's for desserts but the queue at Crown prince was so long, so went to DQ at Taka for ice-cream. Really craving for that man! Then out of boredom we decided to see if the Cathay card could still give us free movies. By right it has expired, so we wanted to see if the Cathay people were blur enough. Sure enough they were! And the strange thing is that they realised my Warner Brothers movie card had expired but not the Cathay one! So strange! Hmm actually the card itself is non-transferrable which means it's quite useless if my aunt is not around. So now we know how slack Cathay is. Anyway we did something really evil which we shouldn't. So we got 2 tickets for GOOD BOY and instead of me giving it away like last time we sold it for a cheaper price to some guillible parents taking their kids for the movie! Somehow I think it's not right lah even though the other party would have benefitted, but yah I think next time if I'm in such a situation it'll be Santa Claus for me.

So at 9.30pm caught up with Reuben and his cousins. Decided to go bowling at Cathay bowl and once again I tried to use the expired Cathay card to see if it can give us any discounts. This time the people weren't so 'gong' haha. The bowling alley is so cool! Every saturday night is cosmic night which means you are bowling in the dark! Very cool! But sort of distracting with the techno music, so my score was 96. Not very impressive by my standards but nvm. Hmm there's this host who came to our lane to play some games. So Nicole was supposed to hit more than 5 pins to get a prize. Duh, she did it easily and got a perfume sample haha. Then 11.30 Leslie and I left and we had to say goodbye to Michelle for good. She's Reuben's friend I think. Going to States on Monday to study. So sad! I will miss her even though I've hardly known her! Take care!

Hmm ok more updates on the classes although tomorrow I will officially know who's with me. These people are NOT in my class: Cheryl, Ailing, Nelson, Shanky, Marilyn, Dayana, Jiahui, Jerlyn. SO WHO IS???

Saturday, January 03, 2004

So 2nd day of 2004 is over hehe. Hmm I woke up at 5.30am, not for school of course. Went for a soccer match with Shawn's team cos they were lacking a goalkeeper. Kick off was at 7am! Wow so early! In the end we won 3-2. Very close fight, but I don't wanna be held responsible for the 2 goals conceded. Went for early lunch after that at don't know where Kopitiam. A very silly incident broke out which I shan't elaborate. Kinda pissed me off even though I was not the party involved. Anyway that's over lah.

Took a cab home with Nicholas and a couple of other friends and slept the whole afternoon! No lunch so I ate maggi mee. Then at night went off for Nicole's cousin birthday party at Pasir Ris park. Quite fun I would say! Feeling a little guilty after drinking alcohol again. But never mind. Leslie and Celeste were there too so it was great. Nicole's dad fetched me home at 12 midnight.

Hai better enjoy myself to the fullest. Well next week school starts but there's no tutorials and it's equivalent to no school at all lor. The lectures all 1 hour only. Waste my time. So next week I can say it's still holiday lah.

Adele, Melissa, Dayana and Sharon all went to OTHER classes! So suay! Who else is in my class??

Thursday, January 01, 2004

So, New year's eve countdown at Sentosa was AWESOME! Add to the fact that we were VIP guests so food and drinks were free till 1am! 6 of us went: Me, Sarah, Leslie, Pui Ser, Eugene and Wei Thong. Basically we ate at Harbourfront Centre then took a bus to Sentosa's Tanjong Beach. Lovely place! Great performances whole night long (except Daniel Ong's rendition of "Rock your body", which was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!) but the babes and hunks from Singapore's Are You Hot? What a letdown haha. I think the best part was the foam party where all of us were really soaking our bodies in the soap man! It was very squeezy but no one cares lah! The foam just rained on us! I thought I was drowning or something man! Very exciting! Stayed there till about 2.30am then took a cab to Lau Pa Sat for my first meal of 2004. Erm, nothing of a milestone lah haha. What happened next wasn't too pleasant. We couldn't find a cab! The whole Singapore was looking for a cab! I mean, we walked from Lau Pa Sat to Swissotel Stamford there, still no cab! Die die last resort we managed to dial one and I reached home at 5.30am - that's a new record people! Clap Clap! Haha. Another new record is that I woke up at 2.30pm.

So there you have it, a fabulous end to 2003 and a good start to 2004. Hope it continues! Oh thanks to all you people who sent me SMS wishes. Really flooded my phone but thanks! sorry I couldn't send back but here's wishing you many happy returns for the year!

Just a reminder that Chinese New Year is coming up in 3 weeks time!

Happy New Year everyone!

More updates on the classes first. Together with me and Ah Fan in T102 will be Shasha and Ryna!

Hmm so there it is. Goodbye 2003, hello 2004. Honestly speaking I think it has been a pretty good year to me compared to 2002. So really thank god for his blessings all year round and I hope this year, even with the many challenges ahead, God will make me a strong rock that has the ability to weather all storms!

Looking back, I'm trying to decide which would be "Happiest Day of 2003". Here are the nominees..

1. Jan 26 - MTV Asia Awards with Yuwei

2. Feb 3 - Chinese New Year visiting to Mr Chiang's house; Fish & Co dinner with MJC friends and Yushan

3. Aug 8 - Ricky Martin concert (mosh pit) and upfront with Denise Keller!

4. Nov 11 - 1st, last and only TB49 outing to Seoul Garden

5. Nov 22 - That's obviously my birthday party at SOS

6. Dec 24 - Christmas eve countdown at Orchard Road

7. Dec 31 - New Year's eve countdown at Sentosa

Well it's quite hard, and I don't think you would have guessed it. Anyway it's on Nov 11, my TB 49 class outing. Hmm I really miss them loads and that was quite a memorable day to end the semester. As a class, obviously all of us had our differences with each other, but I'm proud to say we managed to pull through. That day was quite eventful cos we really had so much fun and I'll definitely treasure the neoprint that 9 of us took! See ya soon k!
