Today we mourn the death of Whitney Houston - a true diva, a real singer that had touched the lives of so many. And it's so cruel to lose someone to drugs yet again, after Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse.

(Okay, at press time it's not confirmed if it was drugs but COME ON. It's as straightforward as Lady Gaga drinking blood every day so we will take it as a drug case! And oh, I'm not remotely interested with Amy Winehouse. She was never a role model and she dug her own grave so let's not even go there.)

Don't do drugs, people. Whenever I tell people I hit the clubs regularly, it does raise eyebrows but I stand by my notion - no drugs, no extreme alcoholism and no womanizing. You'll be amazed by what drugs can do to you so keep off!

(But then again, those of you who read my post are probably my good friends and ha, most of you don't even smoke, let alone drugs!)

ANYWAY! As most of you know I manage a footie team outside and it's high time I introduce a few of my mates to you. They have been fabulous team mates for so many years and we have a fantastic squad which I am so proud of!

We have a great mix of army lads, students, working adults and players from the UK playing all together and that really excites me every time we go out and fight for our common goal!

February 2012!

It's been a breathtaking start to the year of the dragon. A little daunting, really, to lose 10 of my close colleagues to a rival airline and though it wasn't unexpected, it definitely hit me harder than expected. Tears were shed in the office, farewell emails came fast and furious and a brand new boss awaits for everyone. It's going to be a tough period of adjustment, but in the process I've made many new friends all abound and I trust that if Gods brings me to it, He will see me through it.

No new year resolutions at all! I'm a firm believer that if you set out to do something, then do it there and then. Keep working towards it, whether it's the beginning or the end of the year. My only interim plan is to keep fit and exercise much more because the Christmas and CNY season have been very evil and I haven't been keeping in shape!

CNY this year was a bit of anti-climax; I fought extremely hard to get my off days and eventually I got it, only to be undone by a severe shortage of staff + high MC rate and hence I had to give up
chor yi and fly to Beijing. Which wasn't exactly a very bad deal because I had the following weekend off to go on a crazy gambling rampage.

This was Beijing in CNY - temperatures drop to a negative so you can really imagine how cold it is!

My tips for making 2012 a good year for yourself -

1) Spend time alone, be it having a meal or catching a movie. Alone time is important to help you eradicate all the clutter from your life and just reflect on the moment. But having said that..

2) Socialise and make new friends. Aim to be the conversation-starter at gatherings and start building bridges because that bridge may lead somewhere, be it a new career or a spouse!

3) Be sporty; pick up a new sport or engage in something that you haven't been doing in a long while. An active lifestyle leads to an active brain, which leads to a stress-free life.

4) Don't hold back on food. Eat adventurously, and whatever fats and calories that you've put on can be easily displaced by the previous point. After all, you only live once.

5) Travel. Of course that's extremely easy for someone like me, but for everyone else, aim to visit at least one other country that you've never been to. The world doesn't just revolve around chatuchak market and mahboonkrong.

6) Be debt-free. I have zero credit card bills and I don't have to service any loans - and I'm not exaggerating when I say that's one of the best feelings in the world.

7) Get interested in music. Go catch a concert this year, or head to a music festival. Either way, music never harms, music is your soul!

Have a blessed year ahead!
