Yesterday was an emotional day for everyone at camp as we bade farewell to our commander, who had been with us for just slightly over a year.

He has been a great leader and it was definitely sad, on my part, to see him leave after such a short tenure. I'm fortunate, unlike many other units, to have such a great boss like him who won't view you based on the rank that is inscribed on your sleeve, but based on who you are as a person, and for that I truly respect him to the fullest.

While standing in the contingent, I witnessed many teary-eyed officers and specs alike who were reluctant to see him leave. It was more difficult for someone like me, especially when he mentioned my name during his short thank you and farewell speech. We certainly interacted a lot and established good relations, and I wished we had more time to build on that.

But as they say, all good things must come to an end, and while it's very hard to say goodbye, I can't wait to embark on a new journey wih my new commander.

Thank you, Sir, for everything!

MOS yesteday night made me very tipsy. It didn't help that I had a long day rehearsing for a parade on Monday, so my feet was very sore from the standing. Then after a long movie, I made my way down to MOS in my unit's polo tee and pants. Thankfully I had my G2000 jacket with me that I grabbed from the office! If not I would have resembled Singapore's Geek in the Pink and some kay-po stranger would definitely have snapped a photo of me and send it to STOMP.

Dad was there and he bought an excessive anount of drinks, leading to a quick intoxication and rounds and rounds of Five, Ten. Sarah - we can have a Five, Ten challenge next time at MOS. Haha. Other than Smoove, didn't reall enjoy much of the music, I guess it's Mambo withdrawal symptoms. Till next time!

My uni friends took me for a very traditional meal of Chinese porridge zhi char!

Porridge, salted eggs, duck, fried egg, salted vegetables, chilli squid.

Like how is that even a meal! Even though it's supper, I mean I could eat 10 bowls of each dish and still be as hungry as the wolf. That's why I hate Chinese food! It doesn't make you full, and it tastes so bland!

Yes complain complain complain!

But anyway, it was a great experience! Like I was living in the olden times. But the food really didn't sppeal to me. But it was great company anyway. back to CHOMP CHOMP next time, guys!

Had a weekend out at Sentosa last week, now I look like a barbequed chicken. Plus I got a nice crew cut so I look kinda weird now. Took part in the EPL beach soccer challenge, finished top 4 out of 45 teams. That's simply amazing! Won a truck load of Nivea products.

The famous DONUT FACTORY where people queue for 3 hours...
But now the new outlet at Suntec is soooo much faster!

YUMMY. The kaya one is the most delicious. And probably the most fattening. But who cares. I LOVE DONUTS.

Anyway, I chanced upon this great party game that Mel introduced! I don't know what it's called, and it's only meant for kids but knowing the childish streak in me, I could always play it anytime!

It's very simple - there's this GIANT ice-cream and inside the cone is loads and loads of sweets, candy and chocolate! Of course the whole ice cream is sealed off. And the aim of the game is simple - whack the ice cream until all the loot falls out!

Getting ready to whack the giant ice cream!

And when it's whacked open, some of the loot will fall out, but not all. So you continue whacking until everything falls out!

You should have seen the expression on the kids faces! Oh well, I guess I'm too old for that!

I watched the most anticipated film of the year, Secret. Iz and I had to contend with front row seats at TM cos it was declared a school holiday today and the school kids would naturally rush to see Zhou Jie Lun instead of the 881ya sisters or Jason Bourne.

My verdict? This movie gets 4.5 out of 5 popcorns and that should be enough to get runner's up place in my 2007 Movie Of The Year Award, the top spot obviously going to the grown ups at Hogwarts.

This much aniticipated movie is arguably a masterpiece in all aspects, and more credit must be given to the director himself, Jay Chou, whose filming capabilities have been suspect. This movie is the follow up to his mundane effort in The Curse Of The Golden Flower and the rather immature performance in Initial D.

The movie starts off rather saccharine, and for the first hour you might be forgiven if you thought you were watching a re-run of all his past MVs these 7 years. The only exception is the perfectly executed 'battle' with the school's Prince of Piano, where you would never ever see a better duo enticing the audience with flawless piano pieces. That, however, was nothing brand new as this was a carbon copy of his 2004 concert where the same Prince of Piano played with Jay at the indoor stadium.

Of course, the movie goes into the climax where the unexpected secret is revealed, and thereafter the plot twists into a rather soppy love story that may not be the most original at first sight, but definitely the one that tugs at your heartstrings throughout. Again, much of the credit would go to Jay, who produces a commendable piece of directing towards the end and concludes the show in the most dramatic way.

Overall, a brilliant and spectacular film that surpasses your everyday love story and allows your imagination to flow throughout. A must-watch movie, especially for Jay fans, who puts the icing on the cake with a rather fitting theme song. Whatever you do, don't reveal the secret of the movie to anyone.

HAPPY 42ND BIRTHDAY TO SINGAPORE!
THIS YEAR'S THEME: A CITY OF POSSIBILITIES!

Ok, I actually know this because my unit had this postcard design competition to commemorate NDP this year and all the slackers like me were forced to do. Which was not a bad thing because it was so nicely framed up among the Top 20! And NO, you will not see me uploading it onto the blog because I think it's so ugly. When have I ever been artistic??

This year is a very proud year for my army unit because we received the Presidental Colours from, well, quite obvious lah from the name, and it is very beautifully cased up in Suntec City! Unfortunately I haven't seen it but if you do drop by, it's at the Kopitiam Area (how glam eh), number 35!

And you can say Hey! I have a friend from that unit! Haha!

I feel like a little kid. I watched High School Musical like 5 times already, and it's constantly playing on my Ipod. I could literally memorise the entire plot from start to finish, even what the next line is gonna be. But I read that adults in US are crazier over the show, as compared to their kids. Can't wait for Part 2!

Class was interesting. My lecturer is a DR. and he wants to learn Singlish! So as a parting gift, we got him a Singlish dictionary and each of us signed off beside our favorite Singlish word. I managed to read the entire dictionary, my oh my. Singlish is VULGAR!

Can't wait for public holiday next week!
