Yesterday was Round 3 of you-know-what..

Photobucket

Ok, so it wasn't Lisa's cup of tea, although she was madly in love with one of the songs, but then again, I could watch Mamma Mia again, since you're so in love with that too :)

And it was Round 2 of post-F1 party, this time with the suite ambassadors at Hard Rock Cafe. Yah I know what you're thinking, why are there so many F1 parties? F1 was like over a month ago and the season will be over in 3 days. But hey, free booze and loads of food, so who's complaining?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The lucky draw where they were giving out so many prizes, mostly F1 stuff, except the Bali trip of course.

Photobucket

Post post-F1 party was, well, ideally at Zouk since it's my favourite day of the week. Everybody say after me: I LOVE WEDNESDAYS!

But everyone rooted for Attica instead, which was swarmed with so many expats! Not a bad place though.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Today was Round 4 for me and Round 2 for Aaron and Round 1 for James.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Seriously, you guys should try watching a show FOUR TIMES. It's like, I can memorise the script from start to finish. Like the exact words that will come out of their mouths. The exact actions. No problemo!

Nothing's changed though. Best songs ever.

It's like catching lightning
the chances of finding someone like you
It's one in a million
the chances of feeling the way we do
And with every step together
We just keep on getting better
So can I have this dance?
Can I have this dance?

Today was back to TP with Aaron to lunch with Ms Tan, had plans for Sugar Loaf and Top Table but both were closed for 5 weeks. Ms Tan has left me in a deep quandary by offering me a very big job, just that I'm not sure if it's really in my interests that I go for something so huge, and while the rewards for success are fruitful, the consequences for failure are dire, so I really need some deep thinking.

Anyway after lunch was movie time, and no surprises that we caught you-know-what.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Well I said I'm gonna catch this no lesser than 5 times and I'm keeping my word!

And if my earlier reviews aren't convincing enough for you to splash money on this 'kiddie' show, Aaron claims this is 'the best show that he has ever watched.'

You heard it yourself! I'm not being biased! He said it himself!

And no prizes for guessing what movie I'll be watching tomorrow :)

Photobucket

Next to get the High School Musical bug is Lisa !

Anyway, was quite pissed while watching the movie, because I knew that it's gonna be filled with school kids unlike my first encounter, and true enough, my horror began. I mean, the economy is so bad, yet school kids are paying money to chit chat in a movie?? And it's really incessant talking, like they talk as if they are the only ones in the theatre! When a song is on, yeah everyone shuts up and enjoy, but when the other scenes are on, they don't even bother to watch and it's really like being in a school canteen. Extremely frustrating! AND, worse still, I mean yeah, laugh when it's funny, but honestly, and I'm being serious here, what's so damm funny when Troy says 'I've brought chocolate-covered strawberries for you.' What is so damm funny about it that the whole cinema just breaks out laughing? It's breaking point, I tell you!

KIDS = KINGS IN DIRE STRAITS

Tomorrow, I'm gonna bring a cane to the show. Whoever talks while the show is ongoing and laughs when they are not supposed to, I'm gonna cane them!

Ash and Sus joined in for dinner at Ramen Ten.

Ok here's the thing - we had a bad experience at Ramen Ten Far East Plaza a few years ago. I think it was something along the lines of waiting so long for our ramen and then the servers telling us they ran out of ramen. Obviously, let's point out the obvious:

1. A RAMEN restaurant can run out of everything, except ramen.
2. If the above does happen, I'm sure the chefs have the decency to forsee that and inform the staff.

Alright, never mind, that was ice ages ago. Today, disaster struck again. Aaron's chicken ramen had a piece of uncooked white chicken in his ramen, and I kinda lost my appetite after seeing that because I ORDERED THE SAME THING. Unfortunately, in the spate of things which ensued, which included a public lecture to the chef and manager, I didn't manage to take a photo, which would have certainly made its way to STOMP.

Like yucks! I mean, I think that's it with Ramen Ten, Never ever going back there again. But then again, never been a big fan of all these Ramen places.

Their service recovery was as amazing as finding a piece of uncooked chicken in the ramen.

First was a complimentary sushi platter

Photobucket

Then a complimentary dessert for the affected party

Photobucket

And finally waiver of service charge and of course, that bowl of ramen.

Anyway guys, just take note, in case you wanna eat Ramen Ten, CHECK THE CHICKEN!

"It's upside down
It's spinning faster
What do I do now?
I don't know
what to do
where to go
what's my own team?
I want my own thing

But now I'm gonna scream"

*Update on below post
Well went for a scan today and fortunately everything's ok, no broken bones, no internal bleeding, no blood clots, which is good news because it kinda got worse when my vision blurred and my ears kept ringing the whole night. So thank God it's nothing major, just keep taking my painkillers, but driving test is next week! I might need more lessons, don't know if I'm literally in the right state of mind to go and chiong now!

Well yet again, it seems like I'm forever injury-prone when I'm out playing soccer, and met with another minor accident today on the pitch.

So it was a ball floating in the air and I remembered going up to head it along with 2 other guys, not sure if they were my team mates, and as soon as I got up I kinda realised I wasn't going to win the header so I sort of backed off a bit. Next thing I know, I got a huge elbow to my face and I came crashing down to the ground and my nose opened up like jiang nan river into a sea of blood.

Trust me, it was like some scene from a movie, probably Sweeney Todd or something. Blood just gushed out onto my socks, my attire and it was blood and more blood everywhere!

I didn't really panic because it has happened to me before, and I was feeling rather pissed because I hate players who go out there and use their elbow in the air. I mean it's not just dangerous; it's dirty and potentially gonna cause a lot of side effects, which I might be feeling now. But anyway, glad it turned out well, the bleeding stopped almost immediately when I was in the toilet, and I was fit enough to continue the game. Hopefully I'll just wake up tomorrow and wishing this was just an evil nightmare.

And oh yes, another side effect - a nose job, maybe. Please, I don't do plastic.

So yesterday was the happiest day of my life when the clock stuck 12 midnight, because it was Oct 24 and that meant one thing and only one thing!

Photobucket

The day where HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAl finally hit the big screens in Singapore and all over the world in HSM3: Senior Year !

Woke up in the morning to book my 5 tickets and not surprisingly, I think thousands of school kids beat me to it but fortunately there was a row at the back for me to choose.

And Mel, your beautiful sister called me at 9am just to check if there were tickets available. Zzz.

I really don't know how to do a review for this show. I mean, honestly.

If you asked me if it was a great show, you knew what my answer would be.

If you asked me if it was much better than the first and second show, you knew what my answer would be.

If you asked me if the songs were awesome, you knew what my answer would be.

If you asked me whether Vanessa Hudgens was the sexiest and hottest thing since sliced bread, you knew what my answer would be.

If you asked me whether there were any tear-jerky 'we're soaring, flying' moments worth watching, you knew what my answer would be.

If you asked me whether I felt emotional with this being the last show, you knew what my answer would be.

If you asked me if it's worth watching a second time, I'd say no - because this deserves at least another 4-5 times!

And my Wildcats-o-meter is kinda spoilt today because when I tried to turn it on, it kept screaming WILDCATS! W-I-L-D-C-A-T-S! WILDCATS EVERYWHERE! WAVE YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR!

And can I just say that Singaporeans are closet High School Musical fans? COME ON. People have been saying how childish this show is but when I turn up to watch, expecting the whole cinema to be filled with kids, awwww! Adults cuddling to each other and laughing at all the jokes. Oh Singapore, admit it, you love High School Musical, and don't come and laugh at me saying I'm so immature when your whole ipod is probably filled with High School Musical songs!

And anyway some parts of the movie was downright hilarious, like the first part when Troy was playing basketball, then Gabriella appeared out of the blue, and the whole game stopped, the lights went out, and this...........

Troy:Right now, I can hardly breathe

Gabriella:Oh ho, you can do it just know that I believe

Troy: And that’s all I really need

Gabriella: Then come on

Troy: Make me strong it's time to turn it up, game on!

Hahahaha laughed till I cried ok!!

This morning my aunt and I headed to Marina Bay Golf Course to whack some balls in the driving range!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Think I'm on the verge of trying every single sport out there since I have so much time. Last week it was getting into the battlefield with paintballs and now it's Tiger Woods. Next week, you'll see snowing on the alps at, err, Snow City in Jurong! Or maybe in a swimming pool learning synchronised swimming and water polo. Or perhaps ice hockey, horse-riding, parachuting, sky diving?? Come on, I'm definitely up for anything. Fear no one :)

My aunt, as usual - don't be fooled by her small frame. She hits every ball 200 yards. As kylie would sing, WOW WOW WOW!

Photobucket

Photobucket

And of course I suck big time but maybe they should use the driving range for potential goalkeepers and we can use it to practise our goal kicks.

Really, don't stand near me. It's Dangerous!

Dinner at Kenny Rogers. Dear Kenny, thanks for the timely inflation of prices. Really appreciate it in times of economic crisis.

Sorry my plate looks kinda disgusting with all that chilli but everyone knows I'm a chilli freak.

Anyway, yesterday I was bumming around at night when I stumbled upon this brilliant movie while browsing through my DVDs.

Photobucket

Oh people of the world, I'd never ever thought I'd say this about a movie starring, of all people - Owen Wilson and Adrien Brody but this could easily be the best movie of 2008 !

THE DARJEELING LIMITED (and yes the title is enough to put you off) is a light-hearted movie about three brothers on a spiritual journey through India to find their long-lost mther, reportedly rumoured to be a nun. The movie portrays how the brothers have lost their trust in each other after losing contact for so long and each of them struggle to find their purpose in life after trudging through India on The Darjeeling Limited, the train which they were on. From then on, they have to deal with conflicts along their long journey and they find themself in a quandary after witnessing a family trapped in a river dam struggling for their lives.

A masterclass from start to finish, it almost moved me to tears and teaches on the importance of cherishing your loved ones.

Alright maybe I should take a holiday to India instead.

So yesterday night my aunt flew back from Kentucky, yet again. Usually she drops by every year but this year she's probably way too bored in the land of KFC so she decided to come back more often to satisfy her prata cravings. Went to the airport at 1.30am and of course, when I'm at the airport, it only means one thing and that's POPEYES. But sadly, the only thing left was chicken and I so badly wanted either my popcorn shrimp burger or my chicken strips.

My aunt got me this precious CD, which I couldn't find anywhere else!

Photobucket

And that completes my ONE TREE HILL music collection :)

I'm back on my Prison Break marathon and let me just say that Season 4 is so addictive that I sit around all day watching this instead of sending out my resumes.

Photobucket

For those of you who haven't started on this, it doesn't matter but you should have known by now that Dr Sarah Tancredi isn't dead after all! This new season shifts from Panama City to Los Angeles where the team fights to bring down The Company and they piece together a black book held by 6 individuals. There's also Roland, a new Japanese guy on board who creates a bluetooth device that saps information, while Mahone and Lincoln seek to bury the hatchet and work as a team.

I woke up in the morning just to catch the latest episode on my aunt's SlingBox and it's AWEEEESOME. Scofield is just brilliant.

Oh oh oh, please also get this!

Photobucket

I don't care what you critics say about him mumbling and singing all the rubbish songs. Bottom line is - after 8 albums, 3 movies and concerts all over the world - he is still the most successful artiste in Taiwan now and no one can dethrone him, unless Madonna decides to venture into the Chinese market. This album is fantastic! Please come back for a concert soon!

PAINTBALL ESCAPADES
RED DYNASTY PAINTBALL
BOTTLE TREE PARK

Woke up bright and early on a Sunday morning for my first ever Paintball adventure!

Travelled the entire Singapore to reach the supposedly-ulu area called KHATIB only to realise I could have taken a bus from tampines and it would have taken only 20 minutes -_-

Photobucket

The beautiful and serene Bottle Tree Park was where the exploding and deafening noises of the paintball would break the peace.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Saw many families bringing their kids there for kelong fishing and prawning. Hmm, never liked fishing. Way too boring, and for someone like me with no patience, definitely not my cup of tea.

So next time if you ask me to go prawning or fishing, I will go - to eat what you catch.

Went to the battlefield and changed into our gear, before the marshalls explained the game strategy and the safety briefing.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Paintball turned out to be much more gruelling than I thought!

The first killer started when I was decked out in my long sleeve dark colour t-shirt, track pants and soccer shoes out in the baking sun. It was a real killer, I can imagine that's what F1 drivers experience all the time, if not worse.

The objective of the game was to capture your flag and brick which is in your enemy's territory. Once you are hit by a paintball in the body, and the marshall deems that it was a good hit, you are out of the game. Once you are out of ammunition, you are out of the game.

Our package consisted of 2 games and it was one lost and one won for my team of 3, but really, the conditions out there were just exhausting. It's bad enough being shot when you are running from one spot to another; imagine being shot continuously while you are under cover! I probably got like 10 over shots on my leg because my friend from the other team 'saw a leg sticking out' so he proceeded to rain paintballs on my foot!

And my worst fears came through when I had direct hit right into my face mask, splurting a whole paint of yellow which blinded my vision for the remaining 10 minutes. The sad thing was the winning brick was only 2 metres from where I was hiding, which my 2 team mates kept hollering for me to grab and run. And I couldn't because my whole mask was already blurred out!

Photobucket

Yucks.

I should do this again soon!

Went to Plaza Market Cafe with Terence before his month-long exercise in Australia.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Peranakan food was the order of the day, had a great time feasting on all the Hari Raya-like goodies.

That's the ultimate sicker, or the ultimate puker - durian pudding. You decide!

Photobucket

Photobucket

The next day was spent hunting for a gift, when our soccer team mate became a daddy!

Settled on.....what else? A soccer ball of course! He should start playing when he's one month old!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Take a look at my brilliant drawing. Not many people know that I have a talent in drawing ok. (Depends on how you see it!) And I forsee that young Brandan Alexander will be the future no.9 of Newcastle United. Wahaha!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Rushed off to Tampines for my SOS meeting with Lisa. We desperately need to book our holiday to the BOROCAY ISLANDS. Where? Haha, I also have no idea, ask Lisa where she found this place bah.

Photobucket

And of course Miss Toh was also coaching her O level students, and I refused to give them a motivational talk lest it turns out the opposite!

I mean, honestly, just screw the O levels. Go in, sit down, and do the paper. No questions asked.

2 more movies this week.

Photobucket

MAX PAYNE, the video game show, was pretty awesome. I never expected Mark Wahlberg, Nelly Furtado and Fernando Sucre (from Prison Break) to be such a deadly combination! It was insane! This is a must-watch for everyone! I think Wahlberg is just going stronger and stronger in his roles, like this year's The Happening turned out to be one of his stronger movies, and despite the negativity surrounding the movie, I really thought it was one of the better M.Night movies as compared to, like, Lady In The Water. Totally down the dumps.

payne-o-meter: 4/5

Photobucket

TROPIC THUNDER was a big blockbuster in the US, and I really couldn't see why. I don't forsee this is gonna be a big hit here, considering the jokes are so stale and the whole movie, directed by Ben Stiller, was a complete let-down. Stiller's re-enactment of Forrest Gump in the movie was outright un-watchable, while Jack Black probably puts in his worst ever performance as a drug-staved actor in Vietnam. And what's up with Tom Cruise? First it's Brad Pitt acting like a Youtube wannabe, and now we have Tom behaving hysterically. Has Hollywood turned into comedy night, literally?

singapore sling-o-meter: 2/5

I'm gonna paintball in less than 12 hours, and I'm having butterflies in my stomach. Hope I don't end up bruised and unrecognisable.
