KYLIE X TOUR 2008
SINGAPORE INDOOR STADIUM
25 NOV 08

You don't know how long I've waited for this day to arrive. Almost 22 years! I've said there's only 3 singers I would pay to see live - Jay Chou, Madonna and Kylie. Caught Jay twice already and was fortunate enough to coincide my LA Trip with Madonna in 2006. All that's left is Kylie! Oh yes all my dreams have been fulfilled!

Yeah you realised how shit things can get when you pay for the cheapest ticket. Recession recession!

The show itself was just plain brilliant. Of course it wasn't even half as good as Madonna but give it to Kylie, a cancer survivor, for putting up such a wonderful display of music and dance. She definitely toned down on the moves but her voice is still pure angelic!

Fave performances of the evening were Your Disco Needs You, On A Night Like This, In Your Arms and not forgetting la la la, I just can't get you outta my head..

Yeah I don't think any of the photos were clear enough to even get a shot of Kylie.

Hope she comes back soon!

Zouk MAMBO JAMBO on Wednesday. Totally forgot that the unis have finished their exams and so the whole place was swamped with them. Think it might be worse this week.

Andrew's birthday celeb coming up next.

Thursday, November 27, 2008

Been extremely exhausted the past week, hardly even have time to read the papers, let alone write on this journal. My big night with Kylie Minogue on Tuesday and a full night at Zouk yesterday. Yes I don't need to read the papers to know what's happening in Bangkok. Can imagine those Singaporeans still stuck there, must be damm happy - WAH CAN SPEND MORE TIME IN CHATUCHAK MARKET!

Just back from FOUR CHRISTMASES.

Actually, haven't really watched a comedy for quite some time, unless you count High School Muscial! This one was quite hilarious, although the storyline was plain dumb, but I had the best laugh of my life. Lisa said I laughed the loudest, hahaha. Of course lah. Singaporeans have ZERO sense of humour. Going to the movies with them is like watching a DVD at home. Like all the funny parts they don't laugh and I really have no idea. Loosen up people!

Alright thinking of going to Batam for hair spa.

FOREVER TWENTY ONE NO MORE!

Ok, so it's finally the end of my youth, although I hardly see it that way but it seems like only yesterday that I was celebrating my 21st birthday with all you guys at my place and now a year has come and gone.

Spent the last minutes watching BODY OF LIES wth Xav and Terence.

Photobucket

Well, just a side info note, this movie flopped in the US because nobody wanted to watch such a dark and unhappy film in turbulent times and opted for Chihuahua (yucks) instead.

But I have to admit this is a definitely worth every cent! It's quite political in every way but made a lot of sense if you think about the deeper issues of terrorism. And oh, Leonardo di Caprio will never be seen in the same light again. How long ago was 'Jack I'm flying! Jack I'm flying!' and 'I'll never let go, Rose! I'll never let go!'?

Woke up damm late the next day and found this in the mail:

There you have it, everyone says this is the best birthday present one can ever get, and erm I will kinda disagree but this is definitely the best present this year!

Met Lisa in town for THE GOOD THE BAD THE WEIRD.

Photobucket

It's a Korean remake of the actual show, and that pretty describes the whole movie - some parts good, some parts bad, and some parts just plain weird. Overall, though, I think Koreans should just stick to my melacholy love stories and crazy comedies. Action flicks are not for them.

Charlene came to pick me in her white swift!

Photobucket

You know, I'll never thought I'll actually say this so quickly after getting the license but the thought of getting a car just doesn't seem to go away. I mean, COE is like the freaking cost of a plate of chicken rice and now a red-plate Cherry QQ is going at only 10k.

But nah! Not when I'm still out of a job.

Look at the weird stuff in Charlene's car. It's like a soft toy museum.

Dinner with the rest of the gang was at Jalapeno Peppers in Singapore Flyer. Just going back to the flyer brings back all the memories of F1, where I camped there for a week and snacked on Popeyes at every moment.

The food was pretty decent though!

The service though, was plain crap, and if I had my way I wasn't going to pay for the 10% charge. There was hardly anyone in the restuarant, probably on the verge of bleeding to death in the recession, but the staff were more than happy to just wait around and chat among themselves. When they finally took our order and we asked them what drinks were available, the waitress said crudely 'It's in the menu'.

WOW. SO ALL OF US WERE TOURISM STUDENTS AND WE ACTUALLY DIDN'T KNOW THAT DRINKS COULD BE FOUND IN THE MENU! LIKE DUH!

Anyway, don't know how Charlene brought the cake into the restaurant all this while since we went in together and what more, AN ICE CREAM CAKE. Marvellous.

It was my 22nd birthday on the 22nd of Nov and it was Nelson's 23rd birthday on the 23rd of Nov.

All of us!

After that, the obvious choice of activity was the flyer itself. Heard horror stories about how boring it was but you've still got to give it a go to have a feel of what it's like. I mean as a Singaporean, it sucks if you don't know what a tourist attraction in your country feels like.

The procudure was typical of boarding a flight.

Look at how crowded it was on a Saturday night!

And off we went for our 37-minute joy ride!

I seriously have no idea how to get rid of the ghostly reflections without using flash.

As usual, I can't sit still, even if it's just half an hour!

When you're so high up, emo-ism kicks in. With the currect recession and economic crisis, things are looking so bleak and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone is feeling the pressure.

Sorry guys, felt so emo man. Just can't help it.

Post-flyer plans at Minds Cafe. My ultimate favourite game to kick off the night - Jurassic Jumble!

Photobucket

I think we were so noisy, the whole of Boat Quay could hear us!

Photobucket

Next up to the most mind-boggling game on the planet - YOU MUST BE AN IDIOT.

Photobucket

It's a quiz game like no other, and it's not as easy as it seems!

And we have a winner. Unfortunately. Sorry Sharmaine!

Photobucket

Ending the night is classic TABOO!

And Charlene sent all of us home in her not-so-small-after-all suzuki swift!

Thanks guys for the great night! We should do this more often!

Went home to get an update on the Premier League scores, and surprise surprise! History has been made on the 22nd of November 2008 when the big 4 - Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea - all failed to score on this fateful night!

It pays to bleed black and white -_-

Oh my I can hardly wait cos in 48 hours is my big date with Kylie Minogue at the Indoor stadium. No one shall attempt to stop me as I push my way through the crowd and get on stage to sing our duet. Wahahaha!

- JOKE OF THE DAY -

Sharmaine: Sorry so late, I told the cab driver to go Singapore Flyer and he went Plaza Singapura instead.

Jerms: You are not alone. Yesterday someone wrote in to complain. He wanted to go Zouk and the uncle took him to the zoo instead.

EH, I'M NOT KIDDING ABOUT THAT! IT'S IN THE PAPERS!
