Alright so much for Melbourne, I've had a very good weekend resting and recuperating. The most important thing for me was to avoid burgers and fast food like a plague and start whacking my nasi lemak and bak chor mee. And I did that successfully! Pure bliss.

Thai food on Saturday. I thought my phad thai was really good, considering Thai Express isn't always the best place for Thai food. Just that the chilli could have been spicier.

Sunday was a very long-awaited PRIMARY 3 OUTING. Haha. How many years has it been? I don't even want to count. Marcus Lee and Huay Ching at BARK CAFE.

Photobucket

I was extremely reluctant to go because a name like BARK cafe would most likely have, yes, you guessed it. And yes, we saw some!

But all in all, a great great recommendation and definitely worth a second visit. It's beside Changi Museum, quite near my place but somehow I still got lost while driving there. What's new right? And any place in Changi obviously means peace and quiet and that's a huge bonus. Of course, not counting Changi Village lah.

Starters of sparking sour plum and calamari.

We had chicken wings as well and it as touted as the speciality of the restaurant. Didn't manage to snap a photo but I didn't think it was really fantastic anyway.

My main dish of mussels and prawns pasta.

Photobucket

The best way to describe was value for money. And that's important because the more seafood, the merrier I get! Check out today's Straits Times when some tourists were overcharged in Newton. $30 for one prawn! Wah! Seriously, I'm never ever going to Newton again.

Huay Ching's black pepper chicken

Quite like it! Gonna take that next time.

Marcus's creamy seafood pasta

Photobucket

Not a fan of cream and cheese so gave that a miss.

Anyway it was a weekend to catch up on all the soccer that I missed. I did catch a couple of games over in Melbourne as the timing was just right, showing on telly just when I was waking up for class every day. Went to catch Hull vs Newcastle and one of the mates gave me a match programme from the Newcastle vs Man Utd game!

PRICELESSSSSS.

And of course everyone knew what happened over the weekend as well. Man Utd 1-4 Liverpool. And actually Terence and I were chatting about it the whole weekend and how pissed we were about the Man Utd fans who were obviously not taking it well on facebook.

Seriously, I hate to say this, but Man Utd fans are a really a horrendous bunch. It's no surprise they are the most supported but also the most hated team in the world. When they win, they get the rights to gloat and tease the whole world. But when they lose, NOOOO. They don't know how to be gracious in defeat. Apparently they haven't lost enough games to learn how to lose. Don't believe me? See these comments on my facebook from the Man Utd fans. I know they are my friends as well, but this is just too much:

XXX dont understand why liverfool shd talk big when at the end of the season, its still man utd who victoriously emerge as winners? shame on u!

jerms says: I wonder who's the shameful one!

XXX says: As of the end of the 2007–08 season, there had been 16 completed seasons of the Premier League and Liverpool has won nothing and Blackburn has won one.

jerms says: what has that got to do with anything?

XXX says: that still doesnt change the fact that United is still on it's way to attaining their 18 titles. congratz on that thrashing. promise me you will do the same when united lift the trophy. We aint sore losers. :D

jerms says: If that's not comments from a sore loser, I don't know what is!

XXX: ya thrash us. whats the point of thrashing us when you have won nothing? some consolation at the end of the season to help ease the pain?

jerms says: OOOH. Someone is scared of competition! Who's feeling the pain now?

XXX says: you can win 4-1. but you will never win the title. dream on you scousers.

jerms says: With 9 games to do, I'm not so sure of that!

XXX fuck you scousing scousers. We will show you who are the KINGS of England and Europe. Go back to your hole and contd to think of yr 18 titles.

jerms says: yah show us by losing 4-1 at home.

XXX gloating over a long over due win. i give it to you. enjoy it while it lasts. u better start worrying over your next game.

jerms says: Who's the one who should be worrying about their game??!!

Tell me honestly if these comments doesn't piss you off. This is a lesson in humility. If you keep looking down on teams, one day you will have egg in your face, and that's what happened now. And if you don't know to lose, then you are worthless and all your victories and championships in the past mean NOTHING if you don't know the true meaning of sportsmanship!

I WILL NEVER EVER SUPPORT MANCHESTER UNITED EVEN IN MY NEXT LIFE!

*WHEW. Felt so good to get it off my chest. For once. Alright back to more humane things that are worthy to be blogged about.

Caught 3 movies in the process as well.

Ok here it goes.

RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN. Well, the title already says it all - plain fun, but plain lame as well. I know Disney movies are supposed to be about having feel-good feelings, but this one doesn't make the cut at all. A story about aliens invading our earth. Altogether now - BORING.

WATCHMEN. Sarah warned me before watching that the reviews were quite bad and that it's not worth watching. Well, Sarah does get a lot of things wrong, but surprisingly, not this time. Spot on from start to finish of the 2 1/2 hour torture I was put through. I think this was more a porn movie than anything, hence the M18 classification. And I was sleeping so soundly that Terence had to wake me up when the movie ended.

PUSH. Finally, something to rave about! Very realistic, full of action, and great stuff emulating Heroes. Set in Hong Kong, you might get tempted to compare it with those Hong Kong stunt shows starring Jackie Chan, and why not? This one trumps any of those shows easily!

Gone with the wind for yet another 2 weeks.

17-31 March 09
DRW/SYD/SGN/HNL

My full schedule is updated below my beautiful Belinda Carlise songbox and above the tag board for your viewing pleasure. I don't really like being away for 2 weeks and then another 2 weeks and I really hope this isn't gonna be a typical pattern, but I'm embracing it and hopefully it's gonna be a ball of a time!

See you guys April Fool's Day!

And it's not a joke!

PART 5 - "TOGETHER FOREVER AND NEVER TO PART"

The remaining week passed by in a flash. Graduation Day was on Thursday and we took a million photos each, decked in our uniforms for the first time. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to post such photos on the Internet so the only way you're gonna see me in a Jetstar uniform is on board a flight!

What better way to end the whole experience with a clubbing trip? Crown Casino Melbourne and Fusion.

Photobucket

Photobucket

It was probably one of my best clubbing nights ever. I made that conclusion just after 5 minutes in the club. The music was absolutely lip-smackingly awesome! It beats any other club in Singapore by far. The crowd, needless to say, much better than what we have here. If this opened in Singapore, I can safely say it's Goodbye to Zouk.

And with that, it was time to say goodbye. It has been a wonderful 6 weeks with everyone throughout this training period and I hope in the course of our flying, our paths will meet again!

And this has been the longest blog post in the whole world. I can't imagine doing this for every city I go too. I need to employ a part-time blogger to work for me on jtl9.blogspot.com. Anyone interested? Hahaha.

PART 4 - "EVERYBODY HAVE FUN TONIGHT"

It was back to the airport almost every night thereafter for dinner as it was the most convenient place. Finally got our hands on NANDOS peri-peri chicken!

Even being a chilli freak, I didn't particularly enjoy the spicy chicken. There were 3 levels - hot, very hot, and peri peri fiery hot and I took the middle tier. Quite disappointing really. It tasted more tom yum-my than chilli.

Back to the room for yet another party session. It's Vivien's 40th birthday!

The girls cooked up another storm. Seriously they turned the room into Hell's Kitchen. Gordon Ramsey would have been thoroughly impressed. We had everything from garden salad, t-bone steaks, roast pork, roast beef and KANGAROO MEAT. Yup, the same kangaroo that Hugh Jackman shot in 'Australia'. That's the one we ate.

The birthday gal requested for a dance with every single one of us. Fortunately I had my ipod speakers with me so no problem with the in-house music.
