Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to my left eye
Happy birthday to you

It's officially been a year since I had that fateful op, where in the midst and controversy of organ selling today, I received the gift of sight from a total stranger. One year on, everything still seems like a blur to me, as I recall my traumatic experiences, but one year on, there hasn't been any relapses and rejection. As I was wheeled into the operation theatre on 24 January 2006, at excatly noon, my future flashed before me. Will I be able to fulfill all my dreams with my disability? I questioned God. He answered with a resounding yes, and one year on, He has been faithful ever since.

I didn't celebrate this special day with ease. Instead, I spent the entire evening before back where I was in square one - Changi General Hospital A&E. Younger bro had a freak accident while playing floorball which left his hip fractured. This is his second time in A&E after last week's incident where he suffered an almost similar fate to mine and complained of an eye sore in the left eye. Fortunately it was just overwearing of contacts. Last night, he could barely walk while being whisked into the A&E, so a wheelchair was the only option. X-ray revealed a slight tear in the hip, but thankfully it's much better today.

I'm really tearing my hair out on 1 assignment, which is to set up a blog. I've spent the whole night searching all the lovely blogskins I love, but I have absolutely no idea how blogger works. (Makes me wonder how this blog evolved in the first place) DOOMED!

Anyhows, aunt flying back from US again, I want more REESE PEANUT BUTTER CUPS this sunday!

You must be my lucky star
Cos you shine on me
Wherever you are

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY.

Ok I have to admit I finally gave in. Maybe I should really listen to the weatherman. My reluctance to buy an umbrella over these 2 months have been largely due to the fact that I don't forsee the wet days will be here to stay for long. How wrong was I! It's been one of the wettest seasons ever in Singapore, which is good actually. For those who are complaining, it's still better than the haze right? But I was reduced to forking out and buying the good old brolly for the first time in my life after I needed to walk over from Heeren to Taka to meet my mum. Keep thinking that the rain will subside but after countless rounds in 3 levels of HMV (and leaving the shop empty handed, surprise surprise) I finally gave in and bought a cheap brolly for $8.

Fortunately, it wasn't one of those situations when after you wash your car the rain comes sort of thing, so it kept raining and I thought, YES. At least my investment was worth
it. Hahaha.

Check out the monsoon in Orchard:

In Taka, I also made my virgin trip to the high end shops like Coach and Gucci. I don't usually step into those shops because those are abound in places like Hong Kong and Bangkok for a much lesser price, but my mum wanted to browse anyway. I absolutely loved this Gucci tote bag that I saw tucked in one corner but I couldn't bother to look at the price tag lest I need another cornea transplant.

Here are some discreet snapshots from my K800i..

man2B CLASS OUTING

For once, we weren't having our regular bbqs at Hew Wing's house, like we always did in the past. I miss those times in SHSS..

For I was hungry and you gave me food

I was naked and you gave me clothing

I was sick and you took care of me

And God replied

Whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers,

You did to me.

2007 obviously didn't get off to a flying start. No, I shall rephrase - 2006 didn't exactly come to a glorious end. Bombs exploding everywhere in Bangkok, so my hopes of attending the outdoor countdown party were dashed and we were reduced to DVDs and room service throughout the night. But I'm glad to be safe, that's what really matters, thank God, and thanks all for your concern.

Bali was a far better trip where I soaked in the sun and the sea, and I will try to get the pictures up soon.

I wish everyone a great year ahead !
