Managed to squeeze some time out to update this again!

Ok 2 days in HKG already. For the start, it didn't go off well when I didn't get upgraded by CX as per planned. Apparently the flight was rather empty and the earlier flight would have got me those Business Class seats, but still, I got a 2-seater all by myself and I could sense the jealously among the other passengers. Ho Ho Ho. Food was wonderfully good on board, my brother and I wanted a second serving but didn't ask in the end. I had a very rowdy family seated behind me who kept kicking my seat (out of envy?) until I finally stared at the father. Ha ha ha.

Oh yah, when I landed, guess where I headed straight for. POPEYES CHICKEN. hahahaha.

Today I spent the whole day in Shenzhen. Freaking crowded sia. It's like MBK lahh. All the fake goods and stuff. My mum splurged handsomely on LV and Rolex whoa.

I think I'm giving Disneyland a miss. Reckon it will be too packed. I have my plans for NYE already. Heard Times Square is hosting a big party with Hk stars appearing. I wonder who!

Till then, happy 2006 !

Strange, that I'm actually feeling this song just before I leave home for an overseas trip. Oh well..

Michael Buble/Home

Another summer day
Is come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm

Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know

And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two“I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that

Another aerorplane
Another sunny place
I’m lucky I know
But I wanna go home

Mmmm, I’ve got to go home
Let me go home

I’m just too far from where you are
I wanna come home

And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life
It’s like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
But this was not your dream
But you always believe in me

Another winter day has come
And gone away
And even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home

And I’m surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel alone
Oh, let go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

Let me go home
I’ve had my run
Baby, I’m done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will all right
I’ll be home tonight
I’m coming back home

HONG KONG
DEC 28 - JAN 1

HAPPY NEW YEAR PEEPS
SEE YA IN IN 2006!

25 Dec

Xmas Day!

I woke up late. Mum shook me up but I was so reluctant to get up at 11.30. Whole familt headed down to Paragon Crystal Jade. I know I've said this before but I seriously hate Crystal Jade. There's nothing there tempting enough to wolf down at all, and yet we have to burn a hole in our pockets. WE SHALL AVOID THERE FOR CNY AT ALL COSTS!

Everywhere was jammed packed, so my aunt took my brother and I to play golf. Yes u heard me. How boring is my life huh. Playing golf on Xmas. Not really like a proper game of course, just whacking balls at the driving range. I couldn't even hit 50 yards and yet my younger brother consistently hit 150 yards and more. SULK. That's what hockey does to you man. He should just be a golfer.

Headed off to cousin's place for dinner. They ordered in Mezza9 which cost a bomb and yet, the food was very averagy. Didn't really eat much. What followed was the worst ever DVD to watch on Xmas Day: SAW 2! My desperate pleas to avoid watching didn't work when 10 and 11yr olds were bugging me to explain the whole concept of "how much blood are you willing to shed to stay alive?" Gosh. How traumatising.

Back to sch tmr!

24 Dec

Xmas eve!

As with tradition, went for the Orchard spray-who-u-dun-like foam party! This year was freaking crowded ok. Almost got into a big brawl, but fortunately it wasn't serious.

Supper at Fisherman's Village! Enjoy the photos!

I NEED MOTIVATION.

4 days of study break, and 3 days totally killing it over useless nothings. Yes there goes my calculus. Can't really blame me when it's the festive season. I mean who actually studies man.

Let's see, CHRONICLES OF NARNIA on tuesday, was absolutely fantastic, makes kingkong actually look very very averagy in the cinemas now. Go watch it! I will definitely watch it again. Stupid Bugis cinema didn't have a proper aircon working that day and I was stuffed out like a Xmas turkey.

Had a couple rounds of pool all over at Pavilion again, can't believe the music still as trashy. And it's a whole lot of shopping yesterday and today.

Goodbye Calcuuluus.....

EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT THAT MINISTRY OF SOUND CLUB.

From Drea's blog:

Mummy: Eh. Did you go for Ministry of Sound's opening?
Me: -eyes wide open in shock-
Mummy: Its called Minstry of Sound right? Or did I get it wrong?
Me: No no. Correct. No I didn't go. I had invites but I didn't go.
Mummy: So stupid.

WTF. Even my own mother is mocking me. OMFG. What is the world coming to. My younger sister (Underaged mind you), signs me in to Liquidroom, my mum occasionally asks me to join her at Devils Bar. NOW SHE MOCKS ME for not going to MOS. Why am I the most un-happening person in this family. Sheesh.

Haha. Everyone, listen to my story ok.

Mummy: Eh heard there's a new club in town right? Something ministry
Me: Ministry of sound lah
Mummy: Ah. Nice anot?
Me: Haven't been there leh. Just open
Mummy: Eh must bring me there ok! Heard it's very nice!
Me: *&^%&^($^%&*
Me: But it's for youngsters!
Mummy: WHO SAY I CANNOT CLUB? I MUST LEARN TO GO CLUBBING OK.

Hahahahaha. Drea, let's have an outing at MOS. Mum and kids family outing!

I CLEARED MY LAW PAPER TODAY!. So I'm left with the ultimate disaster on eve of Xmas eve. CALCULUS.

At least, I have 4 days to study. But of course I don't think I will lah. I missed 1 week of Mambo and MOS just opened. I heard it's pure entertainment man. Anyways I'm off to Desaru this weekend. Haven't been there in 5 years. Last I went there was a volleyball retreat in Sec 3 and I can't remember a single thing we did. Back tmr night!

I'VE WATCHED KING KONG TWICE!

So I can memorise the whole plot from start to finish. Ok just a warning, the show is 3 hours long. Yes you've probably may have heard and you won't believe it, but hear it from me ok. So don't act hero by watching a 9+ show and trying to catch the last bus/train home. Don't even try! And load yourself with lots of stuff like I did. Popcorn, nachos, hot dog, coke, kitkat. Ooooh.

I'm seriously not kidding!

Anyway, I don't find the show that interesting. I wonder why people actually cried man. Ok fine it's touching but hello. It's king kong. Not my beloved Nicole Kidman.

I love to eat. Off for my 6th meal!!

I'm finally done with my 1500 edu trip essay. I'm surprised it took me longer than expected. Usually, if I write spontaneously, probably within an hour or so. But there's some strict format to follow. *tsk* Talk about creativity.

Then I would have given an in-depth description of the lamb briyani at Riviera hotel...

and the tempting BANANA CARAMEL :!

Or how I was really ill-treated on...........
(no, I don't wanna get jailed!)

After that, I treated myself to a night of ULTIMATE KYLIE. Dad just bought her DVD collection. Then as I'm humming all the songs, I realised, IT'S WEDNESDAY NIGHT. Grrr. Nonono. I shouldn't be at home just watching Kylie. I should be up there at the dancefloor enjoying 'I should be so lucky'. Ok. Withdrawal symptoms at its maximum. :x

Met my clients for CPM today at Sing Expo. What a wonderfully near place :)
I think, I'm too overdressed in shirt and pants, so I'll leave that out for future visits. Was pretty distracted today though. At the end of the 1 hour session, Tracy said I was shaking my head more to the clubbing tunes that were airing on Power98 than listening to my client. Sheesh. And I was busy slurping my Black Forest Ice Blended to the max.

At least though, I found out something. FCBC and City Harvest have moved to expo! Trust that my project will somehow involve these 2 churches. In a good way of course.

Off for more kylie!

I found this story below rather interesting. It's adapted from a book I'm currently engrossed in about airlines. Here the writer obviously shuns budget airlines (LIKE ME) which gives consumers dirt cheap fares with 1001 restrictions. It has certainly given a whole lot revival to the full service airlines!

IF THE AIRLINES SOLD PAINT

Customer: Hi. How much is your paint?

Clerk: Well, sir, that all depends on quite a lot of things.

Customer: Can you give me a guess? Is there an average price?

Clerk: Our lowest price is $12 a gallon, and we have 60 different
prices up to $200 a gallon.

Customer: What's the difference in the paint?

Clerk: Oh, there isn't any difference; it's all the same paint.

Customer: Well, then I'd like some of that $12 paint.

Clerk: When do you intend to use the paint?

Customer: I want to paint tomorrow. It's my day off.

Clerk: Sir, the paint for tomorrow is the $200 paint.

Customer: When would I have to paint to get the $12 paint?

Clerk: You would have to start very late at night in about 3 weeks.
But you will have to agree to start painting before Friday of that
week and continue painting until at least Sunday.

Customer: You've got to be kidding!

Clerk: I'll check and see if we have any paint available.

Customer: You have shelves FULL of paint! I can see it!

Clerk: But it doesn't mean that we have paint available. We sell
only a certain number of gallons on any given weekend. Oh, and by
the way, the price per gallon just went to $16. We don't have any
more $12 paint.

Customer: The price went up as we were talking?

Clerk: Yes, sir. We change the prices and rules hundreds of times
a day, and since you haven't actually walked out of the store with
your paint yet, we just decided to change. I suggest you purchase
your paint as soon as possible. How many gallons do you want?

Customer: Well, maybe five gallons. Make that six, so I'll have
enough.

Clerk: Oh no, sir, you can't do that. If you buy paint and don't use
it, there are penalties and possible confiscation of the paint you
already have.

Customer: WHAT?

Clerk: We can sell enough paint to do your kitchen, bathroom, hall
and north bedroom, but if you stop painting before you do the bedroom,
you will lose your remaining gallons of paint.

Customer: What does it matter whether I use all the paint? I already
paid you for it!

Clerk: We make plans based upon the idea that all our paint is used,
every drop. If you don't, it causes us all sorts of problems.

Customer: This is crazy!! I suppose something terrible happens if I
don't keep painting until after Saturday night!

Clerk: Oh yes! Every gallon you bought automatically becomes the
$200 paint.

Customer: But what are all these, "Paint on sale from $10 a quart"
signs?

Clerk: Well that's for our budget paint. It only comes in
half-gallons. One $5 half-gallon will do half a room. The second
half-gallon to complete the room is $20. None of the cans have
labels, some are empty and there are no refunds, even on the empty cans.

Customer: The heck with this! I'll buy what I need somewhere else!

Clerk: I don't think so, sir. You may be able to buy paint for your
bathroom and bedrooms, and your kitchen and dining room from someone
else, but you won't be able to paint your connecting hall and stairway
from anyone but us. And I should point out, sir, that if you paint in
only one direction, it will be $300 a gallon.

Customer: I thought your most expensive paint was $200!

Clerk: That's if you paint around the room to the point at which you
started. A hallway is different.

Customer: And if I buy $200 paint for the hall, but only paint in one
direction, you'll confiscate the remaining paint.

Clerk: No, we'll charge you an extra use fee plus the difference on
your next gallon of paint. But I believe you're getting it now, sir.

Customer: You're insane!

Clerk: Thanks for painting with us!

YAY YAY YAY.

1) I finally watched Saw 2! Ooh. It just grosses the living daylight out of me. I have no clue why it gone down from M18 to NC16. I think the ratings should have shot up to R21 instead! Anyway, there's no way I'm gonna stomach another round of the movie!

2) After so long, HTM YR 3 GUYS have finally won a decent soccer match. WHEW. Ok, it was obviously marred with many controversies, but well, it's a good result anyway! And the whole match was recorded on tape with a commentator! I'm gonna get a copy :-)

Off to bed!

I've survived a very harrowing 24 hours.

Ok got dragged back into the open arms of ZOUK again yesterday and got a little intoxicated. But the music just entices me! Mambo is so intruguing. It's like 5 hours of non-stop grooving. Back to bed at 5am, and woke up just in time to get to school. Well, I successfully made it thru my individual presentation, completely sober. *raises a vodka sprite in the air!* Though the powerpoint didn't work and wasted a bit of my effort, but what the heck. 1 DOWN!

I literally slept thru my law tut, and after that it was dinner with my SEC SCH teacher. She taught me thru sec 1 till sec 4, so really had her to thank that I'm actually surviving at TP. Oh well, ironically she decided to stop teaching and pursue her studies, and she recounted on her recent exam that taking the paper with her was actually one of her ex-students at SHSS!

What a small, small world.

(that seems like a mambo tune! haha)

Half a sem gone! Continue to work hard peeps!
