I MISS CIVILIAN LIFE.

Seriously, I can't adjust at all.

5 days in Tekong was a complete waste of time. It's more like a holiday chalet. Eat, sleep, eat, sleep. The lectures were soooo short that they decided to let us book out earlier instead of rotting there.

I thought posted to Paya Lebar Airbase was a huge relief, but how wrong was I.

I have the change bus and train 3 times to reach the workplace! And the traffic in the morning is a killer. The only consolation is that my mum can fetch me home almost everyday cos her office is nearby. Today was my first day, and the job is absolutely horrible. I don't know how I'm gonna survive the next 2 years or so. I've already started my countdown to ORD! Yes, I'm that desperate to get out. And I'm even considering upgrading my status and do combat with my weaker eye. Yes, I'm that desperate. The job really sucks.

I have to sleep very early every day! I can kiss goodbye to World Cup already.

On another note, went to New Creation yesterday with Nicole and Wanyi. Nicole's aunt just passed away from brain cancer. Deepest condolences. The message about blessings from Pastor Prince was very good. And I really hope this period of transition will pass, and God will shower his blessings richly :)

My trip was a blast! I feel it was a good break from everything. It was as if I'm always trapped in this cycle; the pressures of getting As in school, and when all the dust settles, going back to the airport to work during vacations. And after all my eye hoo-hah, it was good to be away for some time.

America is different from what I envisioned it to be! Every state and city has its own identity, just like in Singapore, The people in the East are so different from the West. Don't laugh! It's true. That's what the 'Westerners' tell me eh. Like the West on North America is all the city life where everyone holds high paying jobs and drive posh cars and all around littered with luxurious hotels. Just walking down Hollywood makes me feel so rich! Haha.

Then back in the East, it's all the country life where people drive second hand cars and eat Krispy Kremes all day. Ooh, Krispy Kremes are the WORLD'S BEST DOUGHNUTS. Really. Then it's all flora and fauna, and that's where I golfed and white water raft. Which made it a tad boring because there were hardly any shopping malls.

I can't get enough of Madonna!! I listen to her new album 10 times a day. I keep picturing myself in a club with only her new music! It will rock! All her concert footage is on youtube, for those interested. Yah a lot of you think how come I like someone who isn't even in my era. Oh. Gimme a break. 80s music will live on forever! Just like Bon Jovi, Kylie Minogue and Madonna!

Anyway, I suddenly remembered, on my flight back, I had a squabble with a passenger on board. He took up my empty seat without asking me, which got me really mad. Usually I'm not someone who fights back but I think it's downright unfair. Like I never expected someone who has no conscience or consideration for others to actually be living on this earth. So I did make a point to him, fortunately and he backed off a bit. A lot of people say I'm so soft-hearted! Like in Dubai, when the Emirates stewart screamed his lungs off at me in front of everyone for no reason, I still claimed Emirates to be the best airline in the world. Ms Ivy Tan was so puzzled lol.

I haven't even unpacked my bag !

I did some productive stuff in the States too, like visiting some universities. Not that I will actually study there next time but at least get a hang of what courses they offer. Some have good tourism and mass comm courses, which are my only 2 considerations.

And I also hired a lawyer for my eye case! I figured it's best to get an American law firm to do the case since Bausch and Lomb is a US company. So, if I wanna get some compensation, I might as well go straight into the core. Many of the law firms were quite interested to do my case after I made some calls, and I picked one which charged the least and has some experience in such cases, so hopefully it works out well.

I just came back from an interview with the Ministry of Health. They, too, wouldn't leave me alone huh!

I need to watch more World Cup! Somehow, I can't really enjoy because I can't pick a favourite team to support. I decided I'm not going to be an England fan anymore. Firstly, there's no Shearer. No Shearer = no good captain = no leadership = failure. Secondly, for 2 consecutive matches, Michael Owen was subbed so early. Subbed for a young teenager who isn't even fit at all. Seriously it's all about Rooney. Give me a break. Even I'm better than him. Hahaha. So which team is going to win? Anyone can give me a good team to root for ?

I'm enlisting on Monday! 5 1/2 days residual induction BMT. Wah. Such a glam term eh. What a waste of time. I do hope I get a good posting after that, like strictly office hours, so I can do part-time studies. Don't wanna waste my time. And maybe finally learn driving, and teach more tuition.
