So anyway the past week had been really really tiring for me. Non-stop flying from Monday to Friday - including 3 consecutive days of 6am shifts with full load on all 4 sectors everyday - and a trip swop means that my Christmas is gone and I'll be off to Japan tomorrow. But looking forward to my one week leave after that where I'll be off to KL and Ipoh!
Wednesday was a short meet up with the poly mates before heading to Zouk. I concussed when I headed home after work so I only met them at 10pm. And that's after driving around the whole city hall trying to find a place to park before chilling at Timbre.
It turned out to be a very forgettable session, all because of a mixed-up order.
We ordered 4 pina coladas, as you can see, but because I'm driving and everyone's working the next day, I suggested the virgin pina colada, which was the non-alcoholic version. We all agreed and I repeated to the server twice.
jerms: I want the virgin pina colada, not the normal one
waiter: yup
jerms: The one without alcohol
waiter: yup
And you can probably guessed what happened next. Those who are following me on twitter will remember how much I ranted that night. TWICE, I repeated. TWICE, he acknowledged. And yet he this dumbass waiter can still argue with me and insist he gave me what I ordered. OPEN YOUR DAMM EARS BEFORE YOU ARGUE WITH THE CUSTOMER BECAUSE WE HAVE SO MANY WITNESSES THERE.
And the worst past? Timbre refused to change our order, even after I told them I'm driving and I want to be responsible. In the end, we agreed just to change one - which was mine - and leave the other 3.
I'm never ever going back to Timbre again. I don't see what's so nice about that place anyway, why is everyone flooding there? It's so stuffy, no air-con, the live band sucks, there's no parking, and now I can also add another to the list - deaf waiters.
And I'm not done. After blogging, I'm gonna write in to the Straits Times later, because there's a very long article about responsible drink-driving in today's papers. Funny how with so many bars and clubs trying to curb drink-driving, Timbre obviously doesn't give a shit about responsible drink-driving. Another one of those who value revenue more than customer's concerns, and that's more than enough for me to boycott them for life and I hope you will do the same.
And yes, by the way, this Wednesday was the very first time I had to drink and drive. And I'm not proud of it. No thanks to Timbre.
So yesterday was a more memorable night where the mambo peeps had a Christmas bbq at Shawn's place!
It was also to celebrate Marcman's and Wei Kiat's posting to SISPEC and AFS respectively!
Mindy was our bbq lady!
Vernon and Dolly!
The guys totally surprised me by getting a birthday cake, which turned out to be my belated celebrations as well. Extremely belated, I have to add! And I already told them there's no need to do this!
Yeah I didn't even know about it when the cake was brought it and I started singing Happy Birthday with everyone, thinking it was for Kiat because his birthday is 10 days away! And now I understand why no one wanted to go down to his place together and left me to take the long train ride to Khatib!
One big family! Thank you guys! I'm so touched!
Next up was gift exchange!
With 10 of us, can someone tell me what are the chances of
1) Mindy and myself were the same giver and receiver!
2) we bought the same product for each other - mugs!
3) That we had 2 gifts that were EXACTLY THE SAME!
Nope, they didn't buy it together!
And here's the low down on the rest of the gifts!
And we wii-ed the night away till 5am!
And with that, here's wishing everyone a very blessed Christmas! Don't forget to share your turkey and roast beef with me. IF NOT I'LL CURSE YOU TO BE OBESE IN 2010.
